Restricted and Prohibited Policy for American Airlines

has a plethora of set rules and restrictions that are imposed on all the
passengers so that they can easily handle everything in a well-organized way. To
prevent danger, American Airlines has restricted many common items. If you
travel with these items, they will be confiscated. So, you must have a look at
the restricted and prohibited policy of this airline.
1.
Checked and Carry-on baggage
Restrictions
on checked baggage are based on your destination. Your bag size does not exceed
a total of 115 inches (length, breadth, and height) and 100 pounds. Carry-bags
cannot exceed a size of 22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches. The combined weight
of personal items should not exceed 40 pounds and must fit under a seat.
2. Restricted
Items
American airlines do
not allow their passengers to bring alcohol on board. They can bring a limited
amount of alcohol in checked baggage. No alcohol above 140 proof is allowed. Any an item that unable to be screened will not be permitted in your carry-on bag.
3. Prohibited
Items
Bringing
prohibited items onboard are considered a federal crime and the passenger may
be punishable by up to five years of jail. You cannot bring paints, fuel,
thinner, loaded guns, explosives items on the flight. You cannot bring any type of
inflammable item in your checked baggage or carry-on luggage.
4. Powder
Like Substances
Powder
like substance over 12 oz/350 ml can be placed in checked bags for your
international American Airlines. But powder over 12 oz/350 ml in
carry-on bags may be prohibited.
5. Animal
Products
Due
to some restrictions, you cannot transport certain products of animal origin
such as meat, cheese, sausages and lard into the European Union.
6. Portable
Electronic Devices
Portable
devices which are not intended for personal use are not allowed for travel.
Portable items include watch, calculator, camera, cell phone, laptop, iPad, etc.
They only allow up to 2 of each device and 2 spare batteries with some
restrictions. Batteries should be safely packed in carry-on bags only.

Cutting Instruments
Cutting
instruments such as a knife, razors, cutters are not allowed on carry-on baggage
but may be allowed in checked bags.
8. Smart
Bags
You
are allowed to travel with smart bags but with some restrictions. You will have
to remove batteries in order to carry such bags with you.
